Apply to be part of NYCE!

Thanks for taking part in our Glitch’n Circuits course! We hope that getting hands-on with electronics and computing — through an arts-focused lens — sparked your interest in engineering and related fields.

Are you interested in helping others get excited about circuits?

One of our goals with this course was to identify students interested in joining our teaching team. This July, you’ll have the opportunity to do just that by helping out at two community pop-up events at the Phoenix Central Library (Burton Barr). You’ll work alongside Ini, Andrea, Kayla, Aivery, and Seth during three Saturday sessions.

For your participation (a total of 10 hours), you’ll receive a $250 VISA debit gift card as compensation.

Event Schedule

Saturday, July 12 (4 hours)

  • 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Training and discussion

  • 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch (provided — we’ll order from Panera Bread)

  • 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Mock pop-up event (closed to the public)

Saturday, July 19 (3 hours)

  • 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Pop-up setup

  • 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Public event

Saturday, July 26 (3 hours)

  • 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Pop-up setup

  • 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Public event

  • 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Breakdown and debrief

Snacks will be available during the events. As with Glitch’n, we’ll encourage breaks and downtime — you won’t need to be “on” the entire time. The vibe will be informal and collaborative: you’ll be helping the public explore how to build circuits and have fun with them.
